In the year before KLG published their article in JIBS, Tihanyi, Grif-fith, & Russel (2005) published a meta-analysis of Hofstede-based cultural distance research. Hofstede's theory is actually one of the major sources of theory in cross-cultural psychology, and I'm surprised it's found under the sociology wikiproject and not psychology.
